PC Magazine: It's Time to Get a Mac 1601Mojo I have a Mac and an XP computer, and each has advantages over the other, but the advantages that this guy cites for the Mac are absurd (except for the "visually appealing" part, which is subjective in any case). How is connecting to a printer or the web easier on a Mac? (The latter may be safer, though. ;-)) As for the "coverted" iLife suite, iLife is bundled with the computer, not the OS (if you buy OSX at retail, iLife won't come with it). Therefore, rather than compare iLife with the lack of such in XP, you have to compare iLife with whatever a PC OEM might bundle. Besides that, iLife isn't "very advanced", and its offerings aren't even best-of-breed in the low-end market. MyDVD blows iDVD away, for example, and Google's free Picbutta blows away iPhoto. iMovie at one point blew away Windows Movie Maker, but since WMM2 came out, iMovie and WMM are comparable (though each has advantages over the other). WMP is a better video player than QT, while iTunes is a better music player than WMP (though PCMag is saying that the upcoming WMP11 is better than iTunes).
