PCs Always Cost More, Deal With It 3344PCs Always Cost More, Deal With It 3345 Derek Currie Dude, come on. If a person's "happiness" is somehow tied to a computer then... Derek Currie Okay, lets compare then, shall we? What hardware benefit would I use on a MacBookPro, VS a Dell E1705? The slower ATI video card? Nope. The only thing that I would use is the gigabit ethernet port. Software wise? Since this laptop will be used for Cad-Cam work. The whole iLife suite will be completely useless for me. So where is the value there? You're buttuming that everyone has the same needs and wants in a computer. That's a typical Mac zealot mistake. That's only if it's a value to the consumer. I paid about 1-2 the price for my E1705, VS a MacBook pro. The *ONLY* feature on The MacBook pro, hardware wise that would have been of any use to me, over the E1705, would have been the gigabit ethernet port. But am I going to pay about $1400 more for a gigabit ethernet adapter, and a slower video card? Naah. But what I did do, was used what I saved on the laptop, and bought an Intel iMac. Much like spending MORE on a Mac Mini, and still not being able to play a game?
