No, I cited several definitions, highlighted the one I was using, and stated that the other relevant ones would work as well if you disliked the one I picked. Are you starting to lose your memory?

Only if one believes your inaccurate depiction of the past.

No it didn't, since the one I picked was an absolute definition. Something is either based on another thing, or it is not based on another thing. There is no way to partially base something on something else--there are relative terms for those sort of loose relationships ('inspired by', 'incorporating features from', etc) that are more accurate and do not carry with them the connotations that 'based on' does.

Support your claim. I say it is not because it uses a different kernel, different userspace (though this is closer to FreeBSD than any other aspect of the system), and doesn't support many FreeBSD conventions or capabilities (it lacks traffic shaping, for example). OS X is *entirely* based on Nextstep, but includes some technologies and concepts from clbuttic Mac OS and FreeBSD. Using a (bad) term like 'partially based on' to describe this relationship is sloppy and carries with it inaccurate connotations.

Right, so you think it's a good idea to change the function of the left mouse button for right handed users? I mean, why have it be 'activate', it really should be 'copy' instead.
