I priced my PowerBook too low
yes, that's too low, plus never, ever do a buy it now, unless it's something extremely common with a known, set price, like...

Hi!

Actually, I've ventured in here before with a few questions and never happened to get "you shouldn't do that - this is CSMA, not tech support".

But the request to take this elsewhere has been noted. :-)

Remarkably enough, my newsfeed does carry this group. No idea how I missed it.

I'll look it up and see if I find it. On the off chance that I don't, where will I find this?

You may be a Fundy GodHating troll if: 1655
yes, I know quite a number of modern AMERICAN Christians who do the same. In fact, I'd go so far as to say MOST...

I'll take a look. But if I'm to join up, it has to be good. LowEndMac good.

I don't think that should be the case with what is a *brand new computer*. I can understand a system that's been running for a while having problems, but I've not even suffered that with 25+ Macs around.

From the research I've seen so far, Norton Anti-Virus 10 seems to cause problems, as does Adobe Acrobat. I've seen them both mess up after the update. If it was just Norton, I could stand to dump that, and make a strong case for its not coming back until the issue is sorted out. That won't work with Adobe Acrobat.

Good advice so far. I'd done 1 and 2, will have to check out the other things you mentioned.

I have several boxed copies of Diskwarrior, with a bootable CD. It's truly amazing what it will recover from - this IS the disk utility Apple should have written. You don't have to sell me on this one. I've never tried to boot the CD on an Intel Mac...these are new enough to support Tiger, but I don't think they'll do Intel Macs. Maybe I'm wrong. I have not investigated this or checked with Alsoft.

Noted, will check these things out. Seems like a lot of trouble to have to go to, though. :-(

William
