I agree. But its always right around the corner, and never seems to happen. By toys, I mean stuff for Linux enthusiasts to play with as opposed to professional quality. Like GIMP, for instance. This has been hashed to rest here, but the essential fact remains that GIMP does NOT directly support CMYK. When this is brought-up, Linux enthusiasts come back with "its fine for people to use on their home photos, and its a hell of a lot cheaper than Photoshop." This is after its just been pointed out to them that these apps are not suited for pro use. Sure, GIMP is fine for the home hobbyist, nobody ever said it wasn't, but it can't replace Photoshop in a real, working graphics environment. Neither can Scribus do pro DTP without seriously compromising the quality of the work or increase the amount of time it takes to do something, and neither can INKScape replace Illustrator. -- George Graves The health of our society is a direct result of the men and women we choose to admire.
