So you don't know, but yet Linux is not professional enough for you? Nobody has answered the question so you are not alone. Specifically, what can the original poster do with Protools he can't do with Linux, Ardour and the tools.
No need to change, if what you have works for you by all means use it. I follow a similar philosophy.
Why? Because you can't seem to come up with any valid reasons why the OP could not use Linux instead of Windows or OSX?
And you know this for a fact? You say you've never used Linux so how do you know? I gave an example of a studio using Linux. They seem to have no shortage of clients.
