There is a problem with your logic, clicking the green button (top l-h-corner) does indeed resize a window in OS X to the available monitor size! But you claim.....

So you see brain defects play an intrinsic part in ones ability to get something to work in the manner it was intended to work! In your case it appears that you have been unable to fathom the most basic element of Mac window control, and that, after asking yourself the very same question previously...
