You probabaly wouldn't benefit from switching at all, and likely wouldn't like the Mac if you did - being a long-time Windows user. Even though Macs are much more intuitive, much more productive than Windows machines (and certainly have more neat features), if you are real proficient in Windows, Mac intuitiveness won't help you at all, you'd still be leaving a platform you know well for one that you likely don't know at all. This also negates any increase in productivity. Fumbling around in an unfamiliar environment is simply NOT going to be as productive as using a system you know, even though all things being equal, the Mac is more productive. Computer advocacy these days is different from other kinds of product advocacy. Mostly we're here to deflect FUD, and believe me, some of you Windows trolls are FULL of it and spew it liberally. Sure there are many advantages to using the Mac. The current lack of malware being but one. To understand these advantages (which do get mentioned here often) you would have to be interested enough in switching to listen. Unfortunately, people with your stated atbreastude: "I, for one, am an experienced PC user who would like to know just how exactly I would ever benefit from using a Mac.", obviously have a chip on their shoulder to start out with and would likely spend the entire time you were here defending your current platform and trying to denigrate Macs. I.E. you really don't want to be convinced. You therefore are not a good candidate for us to waste adcocacy arguments on, but you are an excellent candidate to become another Win advocate posting to a Mac group or, at worst, another Wintroll. My advice for you is to move-on. If you're not a troll, you'll find no victories here ( as in no Mac user posting here is interested in switching platforms. Most of us know Windows, have to use it, and have decided that we don't like it). If you are a troll, you will be reviled and kill-filled. -- George Graves The health of our society is a direct result of the men and women we choose to admire. Sorry this works better 1128 Oh, I don't buttume that. In fact, much of the time it seems even the trolls have...
