But yeah, what you say is true to some extent. Having an older model of Mac means you can expect newer models to be as good or better. If you're anti-Mac and have negative remarks about newer models but only exposure to older models, you're working from the buttumption that Macs has gotten worse or stayed "as bad" as the old Macs.

It's fairly easy to buttume that most people would agree that Apple, Macs and Mac OS X has become better for each year and model.

So, someone pro-Mac expecting new Macs to be as good or better, without being exposed to them, is making a good guess, while someone disliking an old Mac and claiming that newer Macs are "as bad" or worse is probably making an incorrect guess, and people would have him explain why.
