Yes Tapeguy, I agree Apple-Mac have their place, I just think that the "overstatements" that are afforded Apple through folks in groups like this one are part of the reason we made our decision AND to this end, it is our hope that we can avoid someone focusing on such false hope as we did. The Apple-Mac solution isn't the dream that many Apple-Mac users would have one to believe. It has it's inherient problems. Moreover, since unlike the Avid's of the world, the Apple-Mac solution shouldn't be a problem. After all they make the computer AND the software . . that was part of leverage that was directed to us which became part of our reason for selecting them in the first place, nothing like single source responsibility . . only person to point a finger to was one person. However, we just didn't get that kind of atbreastude back but quite the contrary.

To this end we figured that since we were doing our own tech support (since we weren't find satisfaction at apple) then we should have PC's since all of us have some working knowledge on them and sure enough that reasoning was what we should have focused on because even a 10 year old kid on a pc could help us. And that was nearly a point. A 12 year old helped us on a media player issue on a streaming video while not one of us could get quicktime to work the same on all our computers. In fact, when we visit websites with QT, we cross our fingers to see if it will actually play. It has to be the worst cross platform player on the market. However, windows media plays just fine when ran through our LAMP (linux, apache, mysql, php) servers.

So in closing, yes apple has a place so far as we see it, ipods and for consumer applications where life and limb (financially) doesn't hang in the balance. OTH, if you have an apple-mac solution that is working, God bless you, cause you did more than all our men and horses could do, let alone, we found out we were not alone in that dark corner. For this latter reason we speak out when we get the chance . . unlike a lot of folks that made similiar decisions and just bit the bullet, we want others to look, research, and listen to users and sales hype that can cost your a fortune or even your business as we nearly did.
