I'd give you the benefit of the doubt that for a while someone else was on the line. Maybe there was--and maybe there wasn't. I neither know nor care, so the only thing left to do is to give some sincere advice. Which I hope was found useful by whomever read it.
Tell him I said hello, if he's still around. I hope he finds a computer that's enjoyable and does what he expects. If he does, I'd like to know what he decided on.
In the original thread, Mike said something about your mentioning 'don't be sad, this is a learning experience, you will learn what kind of people use what kind of computers'.
I don't think I'd have said that to him, it's just not so. There are lots of good people with PCs and with Macs. There are bad people too. And then there is this group, which nearly defies any attempt at explanation or clbuttification. (Part of what makes it so interesting, and why I can't stay out, I suppose. :-) )
