I think you miss Mr. Polaski's point. For instance, friends are always sending me humerous movie clips, or forwarded humerous pictures, etc. Since I have a Mac, I don't worry too much about it, but if I owned a PC, would I be so cavalier in my willing to view this stuff? How do my buddies who forwarded this stuff to me know whether or not it's infected? Likely they get it from someone, think its funny, immediatly hit the "forward" button on their news reader and start to type-in names. Its on it's way to a dozen or so recipients before the forwarder even knows it contains malware.

So what do you do? Open nothing anyone sends you? Even a friend? Makes the computer pretty worthless if you ask me if you can't even share a joke or a humerous movie clip with a friend for fear of catching something.
