For OS X: iTunes. Don't need any others.

I have Audacity on my HD. And a quick look at verionstracker gets me:

Resound Sound Studio Cacophony Amadeus II Jasmine BIAS Peak XO Wave

Plus a load of others I couldn't be bothered to cut and paste for you.

iTunes again.

And how many of those do you actually use?

Do you use both? Why?

But why do you need so many different editors? Can't you find one that just works? Not that there aren't loads of editors for these things for the mac as well...

Yet still more than on your short lists.

And anyway - why do you need a zillion different text image movie editors?

You are aware that there are more than one app in each of those categories for OS X, right? In fact, there are probably enough in each of your categories to make your point moot.
