United 93 Brought Down by Gun Control Laws 1534United 93 Brought Down by Gun Control Laws 1538 Douglas Berry snip Keep in mind that 9-11 was just an excuse to tighten up the economic Iron Curtain around the USA. The security practices are still a joke... Deuteros THEN all four persons could have brought their own guns on board the plane, and taken control of it even quicker. Because they would have been working together as a trained team, whereas the pbuttengers would have buttumed they would be released once the persons' demands were met--as was the case with hijackings up to that time.
The pilots would not have fired anyway. Why? Because prior to 9-11, FAA policy, implemented by standard training courses that all flight crews (pilots, flight attendants, etc.) were given, stipulated that flight crews were to *cooperate* with hijackers. Not resist them. It was always buttumed that if the pbuttengers and crew cooperated, they would eventually be released unharmed after negotiations with the persons. Even after 9-11, it took weeks for the FAA to rewrite those training courses to emphasize resistance over cooperation! But now that it became clear that resistance was the only way, that's what we got. When Richard Reid, the "shoe planter," tried to set off his explosives in his shoes, the pbuttengers and the flight crew reacted instantly, and subdued him successfully. Without guns. He's lucky they didn't beat him to rest. I've read articles in the magazine Aviation Week on things the flight crews can do if anyone ever tries to hijack another plane with knives. Believe me, this time he wouldn't get very far. First, with the hijackers standing in the aisles, the pilot is probably going to put the plane into an 80 degree bank and negative g dive (Boeing builds in a *very* wide but unpublicized safety margin into their designs), slamming the hijacker up against the ceiling and disabling him. A lot of airline That's another reason why seated pbuttengers should wear their seat belts. Strapped to their seats, they would survive that 80 degree bank and negative g dive while the hijacker who was standing in the aisle just got plastered against the ceiling. Then they can unhook their belts and beat the s**t out of him. Finally, the co-pilot is going to use the fire axe that is carried on board airliners and really finish him off. That's probably why no one has attempted another hijacking like 9-11. This time, with everyone alerted and ready to resist, it won't work. -- Steven D. First, it depends on the type of bullet...
