The laws referred to had to do with availability of guns. Hence you are wrong. Less available, the ratio of gun possession goes UP for criminals vs gun possession by non-criminals. The former won't obey the laws, the latter will.
Not pretending to anything, and I am not claiming there is a "minor" difference in laws.
Being able to carry concealed is a *major* difference from not being able to.
Thus I prefer to live in "shall issue" states, rather than areas with "may issue" like California, and completely prohibitive areas like DC.
And the borders do make a difference, Ray. Gun rich places right next door to gun prohibition states enjoy lower violent crime rates than the areas adjacent.
