Whether the attacker is armed with a gun or NOT, the intended victim is more likely to survive IF THEY ARE ARMED WITH A GUN AND USE IT.

You peeants continue to slop out the same old arguments that have been thoroughly refuted.

One of the most compelling studies makes it even MORE likely the non criminal victim will survive and OUTSHOOT THE ATTACKER, EVEN IF THE ATTACKER HAS GUN IN HAND was done by some police.

Using training weapons, one would hold his gun on the other. The "victim" would draw and fire.

It took them awhile to figure out why the "victim" could draw and fire before the "perp" could pull the trigger.

It seems, to the uninitiated, illogical as can be, but think about the scenario.

The perp must decide to shoot. The one drawing has already DECIDED AND IN ACTION TO THAT END.

Now add to that in real life we have a criminal. Presumably in most cases NOT wanting to draw attention with a loud bang sound.

And under the pressure of knowing that he might get caught...so killing isn't his goal, usually. Just robbery.

In the rare instances where the buttailant IS intent on liquidate, you might still hold an edge.

Less, but still statistically possible. Consider those cops. No pressure really, and they switched roles and consistently the one drawing and firing instantly threw the other, even though primed and ready to fire, into a startle reaction.

That's all it takes.
