Of course not, and that is why one of the VERY FEW gun OWNERSHIP control laws I favor and support is that one which makes it illegal for a mentally ill (or otherwise judgment incapacitated) person to possess a gun.

We know your point. But I've not seen a single gun owner and or advocate for ownership posting here exhibit any signs of paranoia. When they carry for protection and there IS no violent crime we might take this up again.

But then I live in bear, lion, feral hog (500lbs record in my area) and wolves, and have a right to protect myself, AND my livestock (they are in more danger than me, of course).

I carry for protection when I'm out workin' in the backyard. All 350 acres of it.

Am I paranoid? My neighbors seem to think not. They carry too. Been a lot of bear activity this year. And a few domestic livestock taken by mt. lion.
