You're use of the word "lots" is self-serving judgmentalism, in my opinion. Nothing more than "spin". And we all know about "spin". It's poured out on us by the media in larger-than-life dosages every day.

Windows' shortcomings have never been "news" to Windows users, since we've been well aware of the shortcomings of Windows since version 1.0.

You Mac fanatics just can't seem to actually believe that some people (in fact, MANY) LIKE Windows XP.

The main problem Microsoft has is in keeping up with hardware advances. They write good software, as evidenced by the millions of desktops using XP. But with the constant flood of new hardware products in circulation and in the pipeline for later, it's hard for even the largest software manufacturer in the world to keep up.
