Vista is nice! 1622
Well, it's been separated from the product, which is where it would have been most important and useful. Last I read it was being considered for release about the same time, which suggests that distributor testing is the problem for that. I applaud MS for considering making it available for XP, at least if it's free. Here's the problem -- this new system is supposed to be an advantage. That doesn't mean it should merely be available to a few experts who know why and will go to the extra effort -- it needs to be installed and used by default, causing the entire PC industry to rely on it and use it. It needed to be included by default, not merely available, not an optional download, and certainly not a product to buy. Vista is nice! 1623 Only major versions of Windows have a chargte. WinFS will be released in a Service Pack, which... Microsoft has often had this problem -- they are thinking about the IT departments, not about the uninformed consumer.
