Sorry, but that's just making excuses for generating Pbuttport accounts. This means it isn't free -- and considering Microsoft's atbreastude about partners and customer information as a product, I think this is a considerable potential risk.
Right -- but that's an unavoidable fact of the industry. People cannot be fully informed -- the designs, and methods, and distribution, and styles of products have to make up for this problem. Products need to be more clear and obvious, instructions need to be plain and correct, troubleshooting needs to be comprehensive.
No, you're missing several alternatives -- the products don't have to be so complex. Certainly not today, when they can do so many steps for us, use plain language descriptions, and be almost totally fault-free. Computers should be made simpler to use by uninformed people, that's all there is to it. You should not have to go to a couple books and research a Web site. the OS should be bridging the gap, not creating a larger one!
