But i've never gotten that particular error message you quote above. I really don't think ANYONE has ever gotten it before. It's been my experience that Microsoft engineers attempt to make their error messages as hard to understand as possible. They're probably inside jokes on the Microsoft Campus in Redmond. I also hate the popups of XP in general. This is why I (and most knowledgable Windows users) use Microsoft GUI PpwerTools to remove them forever. Too bad that Microsoft engineers didn't build them into the config system from the get-go. I guess all software engineers everywhere are so vain that they think nothing can be done to improve their "perfect" work. Of course, so are the Apple engineers, since they are part of the "software engineers everywhere". I can think of more than a few things about the OS X GUI which could be changed for the better. Such as, allowing us to change the pooty colors presented to us without installing a "haxxie", or allowing us to show the ENTIRE date-time on the Menu Bar, rather than just a shortened form of the weekday name and numerical day of the month.
