Went to CompUSA this weekend, this in NOT BS!! 1525
I think that this has been true for some time. Once you get over the fact that there are no Macs for $299 complete with flat screen monitor, speakers, mouse and keyboard, Macs are pretty price compebreastive. People who tend to buy ONLY on price will always find low-end PCs more attractive and that's fine. Apple made the decison long ago to not play in that market. security related issue mac os x hacked &A#JD1Tg!d8 First, the usual comment: CMSA is not the group to ask these questions. This is a computer warz zone. comp.sys.mac.system is the place. If you are... That's the reaction of most people. You actually show them a Mac, show them how easy they are to use, how clean and logical the interface is, and they'll go "Wow! this is much better than Windows." But the problem is that switching platforms is not an easy task. Its expensive, and the more software you own, the more expensive it tends to be, and its traumatic. Many will say, "Yeah, I probably should have bought a Mac, but I'm committed to the PC now." Could be a good call. The minis would take-up less space on the desktop, run most of the apps needed (though I think I'd wait for the Intel-Mac version of M$ Office before I did that were I you), and relieve your IS dept of a lot of headaches. -- George Graves The health of our society is a direct result of the men and women we choose to admire.
