What does this say about users 2649What does this say about users 2652 You are so stupid, Pratt. 1) you can't even spell Alfa when its already spelled out for you... Edwin Umm - I believe I wrote that I didn't even know what the Finder was when I bought the iMac. Read. I'll take your word for the Adobe comment, but if that's so, why do so many Graphic Artists continue to prefer Mac? My wife has never worked in a shop that used anything else. There must be something there that they like. The Art departments at every college-university that I have any experience with use Macs - even if the regular student labs have Win boxes. Nope - if you read my last post, you would understand that I don't see much value in OS religous debates. My comments were meant to provoke discourse (and judging by the length of this thread, I was successful).
I'll grant that to an extent, but fortunately I can do everything I need or want to do on the Mac platform. So who cares? Well - explain why Apple desktops are ranked #1 in the Consumer Reports reliability surveys. That is the most relevant indicator of build quality. Question: how many VMS shops are there these days? UNIX won that battle. Back in the 80's, DEC predominated in Computer Science departments - so much so that the business community complained that we were training VAX programmers for an IBM world (back then, IBM completely dominated the large platform business environment). UNIX is what is used today in academia. A couple of reasons: the rise of TCP-IP and the Internet, and the adoption of C and C++ as the standard in programming languages. To each his or her own. It would be a boring world if we all preferred the same things. What this has to do with anything in this thread or any other here... Ken
