Also we know what the mbutt of each element is from the mbutt of the sun (I.E. if Hydrogen is 50% and the sun had a mbutt of 100 trillion tons, then we would know that the sun has approximately 50 trillion tons of hydrogen these bullpoo numbers for illustrative purposes only). We also can calculate the rate at which the hydrogen is fused. From that, we can calculate within a few billion years one way or the other, how long it will be before the sun's supply of hydrogen will be depleted. Believe me, its far enough in the future for several more mbutt extinctions to take place, and its certainly nothing for humans to concern themselves about. We'll either be scattered across the galaxy by then or a long extinct species.
