To me it looks like all gas is doing is keeping up on par with what everybody else is getting. I figure around $3.59-gallon is where it will settle at afer the dust settles. Price will vary according to state taxation levels.

It already is taking off. Everything that a trucker trucks costs more to truck. All they do is pbutt on the costs to the consumer, hence inflation.

Only to people that have only lived in a paper money society does it make it look that way. If you've lived in a different society with different laws about how money is created, that view would be different.

But I'm at the point that long term investments must be turned into dividend bearing investments. And for the most part, these are doing poorly. The young, yes, the long term investments are always a winning situation. But when they start approaching retirement, they have to convert and that is where the planning is very iffy at best.
