I must apologize: There IS another good use for OS X: It MUST be installed to be able to use Boot Camp buttistant with XP, since the EFI parbreastion must be there to be able to boot into OS X (this is not so for Vista. One must DELETE the EFI parbreastion to be able to install Vista on an Intel Mac. IN fact, it's not even necessary to use Boot Camp buttistant to install Vista on an Intel Mac, as long as the OS X parbreastion remains intact. Just put the Vista install disk in the drive, and reboot within OS X, making sure the EFI parbreastion is deleted BEFORE starting the Vista installer ( and even use the Apple Remote to switch back and forth between OS X and Vista once it's installed. This is even true for XP).

But I do miss being able to upgrade my computer myself. I will NEVER try to do it on my Intel iMac. I am fumble-fingered enough as it is in a PC. I certainly don't want to destroy my precious iMac.
