So Apples aren't "real"? Hmmm. I want some of the drugs you're taking, Georgie-Porgie.

I haven't used a Parallel port since USB was added to XP. The last two printers I owned (and currently own) use USB rather than Parallel.

Also, I owned one of the original Zip disks which connected via Parallel. I was surely glad to get rid of that dinosaur. I gave it to one of my brothers. I don't think even he used it.

I haven't used a serial port since PS-2 connectors were added to Wintels.

See above

My Intel iMac has sufficient sound support and video support for what I do. I appreciate Optical Digital sound, which Apple pioneered in their machines.

The ATI X1600 Mobility driver is more than sufficient for 3-d Graphics with DirectX installed.

Hopefully, Vista will eventually be using EFI rather than BIOS chips. Currently, there is no need for a BIOS chip with Boot Camp buttistant and XP Professional installed.

On Sat, 22 Jul 2006 13:05:03 -0700, Donald McDaniel Microsoft isn't making much headway in regard to security--hasn't Vista already been compromised? And even though I loathe OS X, I admit...

"Compelling"? Actually all those things are really the OPPOSITE of "compelling", at least to THIS "WinClown". Apple has pioneered many good things, which I love to be able to take advantage of. It's too bad their OS desktop is still stuck in 1983.

I only have two gripes about Apple:

1) The horrid OS X Desktop. I appreciate the back-end of OS X, but can't stand the mostly colorless blue, gray, and white desktop, as well as the inability to tailor the Desktop the way I want it. 2) Mac idiots like those who post in this newsgroup on a regular basis, which I really believe is Apple's fault, since they seem to encourage elitism in their users. Even my brother is becoming an elitist. He refuses to communicate with me any other way than via OS X, which is totally weird in my opinion.

They aren't "real" Winboxes, no. They're Macs that can be made to run XP. The drug is called reality...
