Why Microsoft Should Fear Intel Macs" 516
On Wed, 26 Jul 2006 15:28:54 -0400, Mayor of R'lyeh Here, Here! He actually thinks he is to the right of me socially and economically, as well as politically. But I am neither...

That will be sometime in January, 2009. You'll get to vote on who replaces him (if you are a US citizen) on the second Tuesday of November, 2008. Until then, we're stuck with him. The US doesn't have presidential plebesites, and votes of "no confidence" from Congress don't have the power to bring down an administration like they do in countries such as Great Britian. And, he's done nothing overtly criminal for which we can impeach him. Unfortunately, there is no law against being an incompetent President. We're supposed to NOT elect bad presidents for a second term. We elected this one for a second term and now we've got him for the duration.

That might or might not happen. We need some kind of agency to act as clearing house and coordinator for all the potential person activity that comes to the attention of various federal and state law enforcement enbreasties every day. Remember, if the right people had seen the info that the FBI had on the persons that perpetrated 9-11, they would have been caught BEFOREHAND. And this agency needs the power to act on information when they get it. I agree that they have overstepped their Consbreastutional powers, but I don't think its a good idea to eliminate the agency, merely overhaul it. You are fixating on the wrong thugs, methinks. The right thugs have dark, olive skin, black hair, brown eyes, and look Semitic. They are between the ages of 17-35, and hail from places like Iran, Iraq, Afghanistan, Palestinian Israel, Jordan, Syria, Saudi Arabia, etc., and they want you and I and every other American dead. The problem is that not every person coming into this country, answering to that description is a person. That's what makes it so difficult and why the DHS needs so much leeway in dealing with the problem. It would be real easy if we were at war with the whole of Islam. Just deny anyone from islamic countries entry into the US, and pick-up and deport any found here. But for what should be obvious reasons, we can't do that.
