Why Microsoft Should Fear Intel Macs" 541On Wed, 19 Jul 2006 11:39:29 -0700, Donald McDaniel Ok, so I was wrong on that. I apologize for thinking you were 13 years old. :-) But don't try to tell me about upgrading PCs. Been there, done that. (Decided my time is worth too much to fart around with PC pieces-parts anymore.) Why Microsoft Should Fear Intel Macs" 542 On 13 Jul 2006 10:32:05 -0700, "Dave Fritzinger" These articles pop up everytime Apple makes a major move to accomadate the majority. Wintel was... Why Microsoft Should Fear Intel Macs There are no lies, and there is no game. Only facts and logic. Sorry. Neither of us do. Logic doesn't... How many of them are just fronts for drop-shipped stuff from Ingram or Tech Data? How many of them are the same company with 25 different names? How many are 1 guy, his bedroom, and his under-the-bed parts warehouse? :-) How many motherboards do they actually sell? Or do they make their money selling other kinds of parts that aren't for upgrades? Do they also buttemble white-box computers? I know several places that do that, as well as selling parts. Now look and see how many PCs companies like Dell, Gateway, HP, etc. sell. You'll quickly realize that the number of people upgrading their PCs is but a tiny, tiny fraction of the number of people who buy PCs. BTW, businesses almost never upgrade PCs. It's simply not worth what it will cost them. Why not? They use the same parts as the other PC vendors do. They offer the same lousy support the other vendors do. (They blame everything on MS.) :-) I looked into what it would cost to build a machine up the way I wanted and it was 2 times how much I paid for the Dell just for the parts, plus the Dell came with free shipping and a 19" LCD monitor - and an all-in-one warranty on the parts, unlike a frankenmachine where you have 30 different manufacturers to chase after. This Dell is perfectly adequate in terms of performance, it is extremely quiet, has decent build quality, and cost a pittance.
I'm sure you spent twice as much on your iMac "PC" as I did on my Dell PC. Why Microsoft Should Fear Intel Macs" 545 Of course, Edwin is wrong. Edwin is always, perenially wrong about everything. Jobs end the clones because they were...
So when someone says something that goes against an idea you're fixated on, you just tell them to give it up? Have you tried this with the police after they pulled you over for going through a light and you insist it was yellow? Just tell the cop to "give it up."
When did I say you shouldn't? Yes you do. Otherwise you wouldn't have bothered to respond.
