These articles pop up everytime Apple makes a major move to accomadate the majority. Wintel was DOOM!ed when Apple made their floppy drive read and write PC formats; Wintel was DOOM!ed when Apple put out a model that had PC on a card in it and you could run Windows and MacOS together that way, etc. Now that Apple has made the most major accomadation yet by becoming just another clone shop with a custom OS we're hearing that Wintel is DOOM!ed yet again. Its just a Maccie fantasy. Most of you guys never have gotten over losing the OS Wars. This is just another Maccie giving wing to the fancy that defeat is actually victory much like the need to believe that Apple is responsible for every advance in computerdom is. The truth is that this kind of thing is triggered by Maccies getting closer and closer to being Windows users than it is anything else. You're running the same HW now. And while I don't see MacOS going away soon its much more likely to happen than the delusion that is the subject of this article.
