That is a whole other topic, no doubt.

I still remember the Pentium Pro fiasco. Microsoft had insisted that it's flagship product - Windows 95 - was a 32 bit operating system. Then when it was run on a Pentium Pro, it would be slower than on a Pentium of equivalent speed. Turns out, Windows 95 still had a lot of 16 bit parts, which Microsoft only admitted after being caught with their pants down and their privates in the blender.

oops.....

yep. they've done a lot to hold back the desktop because their system is not expandable to new architectures. Look at how little time it took for Apple to move OS X from PPC to Intel. Look how little time it took for the Linux community to port to the Opteron (not to mention that we've had 64bit ports for non-intel platforms for many years now) and Microsoft has only recently released their 64bit entry.

Well, to start with, all the EXPOSE options are about giving the same kind of access and clarity to the user -- and they are a LOT better. Second...
