Outfits like Adobe don't care about which OS their product runs on. They don't care about their customer's wishes either. They care about profit. They can save a bundle of money by having only a single platform to develop CS on. They've stuck with the Mac version of Photoshop only because most professional shops have Macs. When the MacIntel machines reach critical mbutt in the Mac market you will see Adobe dropping OS X development like a hot potato. They will simply tell their Mac customers to use the Windows version now that the MacIntels can run that OS. Apple has made it more likely because of their decision to create Boot Camp and make running Windows on a MacIntel painless.

Microsoft will soon follow suit. Why continue to develop Office for OS X when you can tell your Mac customers to use the Windows version on their MacIntels. The argument over which OS is better is irrelevant. For large business is just a case of maximizing profit.

Apple has let the 800lb gorilla loose in their playpen with the introduction of the MacIntels and now Boot Camp. They will simply become a high-end Microsoft OEM in the end and SJ knows it. He's just not telling us yet.

The wintroll fanboys here think market share means a superior product. They are wrong. The best product rarely controls a market. The mbutt market wants 'cheap', not 'excellence'. "Good enough but cheaper" trumps "Best".

OS X is light years ahead of Vista. It just doesn't matter, that's all.

Elijah Baley I don't think Apple is ready to have OS X replaced by Windows just yet. I would be much less surprised however to see Windows apps, run 'natively' under OS X 10.5. I...

I am a Mac zealot but I understand that mediocrity rules in America these days. Just look at the cars we drive, the children we raise, the things we buy.
