Yeah OS X is great but why is Apple picking on Microsoft 990
Yeah OS X is great but why is Apple picking on Microsoft 991 Oxford Apple still has to pay for the development of OS X, and builds that cost into the price of the machines... But Apple can sell systems at a lower price than PC vendors since they are not encumbered by the Microsoft Tax. Going forward, Apple will always have the lower price for said systems. Apple is able to work better deals with Intel and since Apple builds more of the same model of PC than anyone else, they have better economies of scale. A server never has been a personal computer. Why would you want to use windows in a business environment? you just trash them all, layoff anyone buttociated with them and keep going... if a business doesn't have all its apps web-based, it's their fault, not Apples. For those slow moving firms, yes they are locked into Microsoft proprietary systems, but a firm that wants fully open systems, going 100% Apple is wisest choice. You eliminate downtime, can do with 1-10th the staffing, and you get more productive employees, since OSX works better in business environments that PCs running windows.
