But He also demands that you be subject to the consequences of that denial. Well, Christians do not obey such a "gospel". In fact, only crazy people obey such a "gospel" (or people who are allergic to pectin). Jesus is NOT "an aspect of god", He is a "member" of the Divine Trinity, All of Whom share the same "Nature, that of "God". You may be a Fundy GodHating troll if: 1674 Donald McDaniel I didn't claim I had any particular knowledge. I'm not quite old enough to be considered 'historical'. I... I guess you just don't understand the various relationships between the Members of the Divine Trinity, do you? But this is nothing new for infidels. I will try to explain it for you. But I have no hope that you will be able to understand what I say immediately (or ever). Jesus is the Eternally-existing Son of God (through being eternally begotten by the Father), and at the same time, the son of Man (through His birth in the womb of Mary). That is, He possesses two Natures (human and Divine), and ONE personality, in ONE human body which is now glorified. These two Natures exist together in Jesus without being confused. NOTE that I use the word "two Natures, Divine and human, in one Body, and unconfused, and having ONE Personality, that of the Son of God". This is the Orthodox-Catholic vision of Jesus. NOT "two personalities (each of whom are separate from the other), living together in one body, one of whom is God, and one of whom is Jesus the man". This is called "the Nestorian heresy", or "Docetism". This is definitely NOT Orthodox-Catholic doctrine. The "nature" of humanity is that he is "flesh, created by God, mortal, and corruptible, and never existed until created in the wombs of our mothers". The "nature" of God is that He is "Spirit, uncreated, immortal, and incorruptible, and has always existed, and will always exist". Therefore, since Jesus was begotten by God in the womb of Mary, He has both a nature of "flesh (which was created)" and a nature of "God (which was NOT created, but which has always existed, and will always continue to exist)". These two natures exist together in a SINGLE body of flesh (now resurrected and glorified flesh) (that of Jesus of Nazareth, the son of Mary), and a SINGLE Personality (that of the Son of God), without being confused. We, however, have only ONE nature, that of "flesh, which is mortal, and corruptible". You may be a Fundy GodHating troll if: 1673 I've misunderstood NOTHING. I've slogged through your boringly preachy dogma for weeks looking for something unique (or... Christians, when we refer to "God", are usually referring to the Father, Who is the Head of the Godhead. Sometimes, we use "God" to refer to the ENTIRE Godhead Together. Sometimes, we refer to Jesus as "Son of God", or simply "God", since He shares fully in the Nature of the Father. Sometimes, we refer to Jesus as "son of man", since He also shares fully in the nature of Adam. We also refer to "the Holy Spirit" as "God", since He too shares fully in the Nature of the Father. These Three, Together, make up the "Godhead", or the "Divine Trinity". Each Member has His Own Personality, unconfused with the Others, but together They are "One God, having a SINGLE Nature, that of The Father". The Godhead's Body (if He even has one) is undefined in either Holy Scriptures, or Holy Tradition. Although, St. Paul tells us that "the Entire Godhead dwells in Jesus bodily", so perhaps Jesus' Body could be seen as the "Body of the Godhead". But I do not know if the Church would agree with that statement. I certainly would never state it as being the Dogma of the Church, since it is not even my opinion, but just a "logical" buttumption. I hope this helps to clear up a little bit of the confusion. -- You may be a Fundy GodHating troll if: 1676 On Tue, 25 Apr 2006 02:27:26 -0700, C Lund wrote It's your choice, bud.
