Yeh, right: This is why you and George both have completely misunderstood every word I have written up to now. This is also why neither you nor George know anything about Orthodox Christianity. If either of you has a "decent" understanding of Christian dogma at all, it is more of an heretical one (one of the 30,000 Protestant heresies). George has demonstrated that he is completely ignorant of Orthodox Christianity. It is obvious from your responses that you do not understand, as well as do not accept, Christianity in general. It was definitely the "right" one for the first 1500 years of Christianity's existence. And it STILL is the "right" one. Well, a "cult leader" is a simple human being, while Jesus is both God and Man.
You may be a Fundy GodHating troll if: 1675 I know the history of the Bible and I understand basic Christian dogma. Christ was a carpenter (or a stonecutter, depending on how one interprets the Greek word used in the Holy Scriptures). And at one time He was a Child. It is obvious that you misunderstand the meaning of "schizophrenia". It does NOT mean "having multiple personalities". That is a separate HUMAN illness than "schizophrenia", and is called "Multiple Personality Disorder", and is rarely found in male human beings. "Schizophrenia" basically means "a break with Reality", and is characterized by visual and auditory hallucinations. This illness usually disables the poor human beings who experience it, although not always completely. But it is completely treatable (usually) with medications today. In Christ's day, it was usually found in "demoniacs", such as the Gerasene demoniac, whom Christ delivered from his illness. This man had had his "demons" since young adulthood (the usual onset period of Schizophenia), and had been bound with ropes. This man's illness was so bad that he had broken his bindings, and was roaming around in the garbage dump, doing harm to himself by cutting himself with various rocks and shards of pottery. Mary Magdalene had "Multiple Personality Disorder", and Jesus completely delivered her from her illness. These are not the only two demoniacs whom Jesus had delivered. He tells us, "If a house is divided against itself, it is destined to fall. And if Satan is divided against himself, he cannot stand." He said this in response to the Pharisees, who said that He was possessed by Satan himself, and did His miracles by the power of Satan, rather than the power of God. In other words, the Pharisees imagined that He was a charlatan, or insane. Translate that into modern terminology, and they would be saying, "Jesus is insane or a liar." Of course, this does not explain the miracles He performed, so they do such things as you do, and try to explain them away by calling them "mbutt hallucinations". Jesus also warns the Pharisees to watch what they are saying, since blasphemy against the Holy Spirit will never be forgiven, either in this life, or the next. Jesus was telling them "You better watch out. When you accuse Me of being Satan-possessed, you are extremely close to blaspheming the Holy Spirit, for which you will NEVER be forgiven." Translated into modern terms, Jesus would be saying "When you call Me a liar, and insane, or a charlatan, you are extremely close to blaspheming the Holy Spirit, for which you will NEVER be forgiven. So watch yourselves." He was NOT accusing them of blaspheming the Holy Spirit, but only WARNING them against doing so. He said this, because they were actually accusing the SPIRIT within Him of lying. When they did that, they cut themselves off from the ONLY Source for their healing and sanctification, the Holy Spirit Himself. You can't say at the Last Judgment that you never knew this, because I just told you, so you are NOT ignorant of this fact. -- Donald L McDaniel Please reply to the original thread, so that the thread may be kept intact. ========================================================
