Satan is NOT "lord of the underworld", except in the strange minds of various sci-fi and fantasy writers, or people like you. Christians (all of us) teach that Jesus Himself possesses the Keys of Hell and rest, not Satan. Satan can do nothing without His permission. And Jesus has NOT appointed Satan as lord over ANYTHING or ANYONE, ANYWHERE. In addition, Orthodox Christians do not teach any specific thing about the nature of the Intermediate state, between rest of the body and resurrection for judgement, or about the so-called "underworld". There are a few apocryphal writings concerning this matter, and there is an ancient Orthodox tradition about the "Toll Houses", and about what happens after the spirit leaves the body, but these are in no way dogmas of the Church. Christians everywhere teach that God is the Lord over the entire creation (even the Lake of Fire was created by the Godhead for Their purpose, not Satan's). And the Father has appointed Jesus as the "Lord of all Lords, and the King of all Kings". Which is different from fundamental... Satan is "lord" only in his own twisted spirit. Satan will "rule" no one, not even his fellow-demons who rebelled againt the Godhead in the beginning, before the Earth was created. Satan can't even rule his own life, much less the lives of all who will follow him into the Fire and Darkness, nor those who are currently confined in Darkness until the Judgement of all men and angels (whereever it is). By the way, almost all allusions to "Hell" or the Lake of Fire in the Holy Scriptures, or the traditions of the Church, are mostly word-pictures and symbols of the actual spiritual realities. This is why Hell is variously described by Christians as "Fire", or "Darkness". In otherwords, the judgement of the wicked will be "like a consuming fire" in that it will CONSUME any hopes they might have remaining of avoiding their punishment, and the knowledge that a sinner had a chance to be redeemed, and pbutted it up, will be as painful as being burnt alive in a ceremony pyre. This pain will last for Eternity, and will only get worse with the pbutting of Time. When the word "darkness" is used, it refers to SPIRITUAL "darkness" (that is, having no spiritual connection to the Father, Jesus, the Holy Spirit, or the Holy Angels or the Church). Sinners will have NO communication with either the Godhead, or the rest of Creation. They will EACH man be in his OWN individual "Hell" with no hope of relief.
