can't launch citrix apps on mac asp files interpreted different than pcOn Jul 11, 2006, George Graves funny joke A Damn funny Joke!!! Ha ha ha..... -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Three men who were lost in the forest were captured by... While what you said is strictly true, that is an incorrect way to phrase it because that's not what's happening here. Citrix is sort of like VNC protocol on steroids: the app is executed on the server on which it sits, and you are presented with the interface. A little window in the client lets you select the published app you want to run; given the permission, you can even be the server's administrator. When it's configured properly it works very well on a Mac, and in some ways, better than when running in Windows for three reasons. One is that the apps are enclosed in their own independent shells. As long as the server itself is stable, on the Mac it's nicer because you can have separate windows scattered around your monitor. Managing more than one session in Windows is a painful experience, as each session has its own task bar, desktop, etc. Second is that when you're running Citrix in Windows, you're still inside of Windows, and thus subject to its problems: If another app executed from your Windows machine has problems, it can take Citrix right down the tubes along with it. What does your name means ... ... check it out What does your name means ... ... check it out !! Instructions : What you do is find out what each letter of your name means. Then connect all the meanings and it describes YOU. (Its TRUE) &(Is'nt it... Third, the interface -- for some reason -- is faster. The app can't run any faster because it runs only as fast as it can on the server, but the interface is peppier. Dialogs and windows are a bit more responsive. At my customer's site, I am forced to reboot my Windows XP machine several times a day after Citrix sessions, as the whole box comes to a crawl. The Mac handles it far better. When the six or seven people in the cubes around me are moaning performance, I'm blazing away on my PowerBook.
