I can't find that info, and before delving deeper which will take a lot of time, I'm asking if anyone knows. I'm not asking anyone to do my searching for me. If no-one does, well that's fine. I found via Google that knoppix does, in a newsgroup archive, but I can't find a knoppix ppc distro. America=The Roman Empire 2666 Yes. Most people here don't realize it, but we're in the midst of a "soft invasion... I am loath to folow any more links on this search, because of this: as an example: I go to having searched google for liveCD PPC and find a link that says "PPC-mac" so then I get a page with 6 distros at the beginning of the page. Great, I think, there's knoppix. I click the 'read more' link for knoppix and I see the 'download CD' link, but luckily before I waste 1-40th of my monthly bandwidth I notice it says this is for i486! So what the f*ck! I think. Screw all these websites who want to tell me what they want to tell me, not what I want to know--I'll ask someone. After all, that's what the internet is for. The day google becomes my 'friend' is the day I will toss this heap of useless plastic out the window! If I can't use it to make 2-way conversations with other humans it's useless to me. Well ok, I'd try to sell it first... Anyway, I went back and after a fair bit of careful scrutiny I notice the tell-tale # at the end of the url on that ppc link. A sign, I have learned, that someone has used javascript for the links. But rather than tell me I need to lower my security just to navigate the site, it's given me a false trail. Ok so now I can probably download a ppc live cd of knoppix. But can you see what I mean? The web is useful for some things, but when you want something very specific, it's always best to ask in a place where people might know, having first spent a little, but not an inordinate amount of time searching the only slightly useful web (in cases such as these). The internet is more than just the web. Even now, I don't know for sure about knoppix, I just read it as an aside in a newsgroup conversation (concerning an x86 version so no point asking in that thread). As a response to a direct question I'd have a lot more confidence downloading, burning and trying this out. that's why I was asking here. Right, well I'll give this a go now! live CD 2665 Jim said the following on 30-04-2006 02:53 am: All I have found is this; and similar.
