macs still cost more 956macs still cost more 957 This is rather funny, because you guys insist on comparing acquistion costs as if they matter. In my experience in the data center, 20% of the cost of a server is tied...
Only references to opinions on carefully selected sites, ones that support his position. No statistically competent person would condier these "studies", or even good evidence. I'm sure I can find equally many supporting the opposing view. I have both Mac and PC and both have strengths and weaknesses. What I don't get is this ongoing cult behavior thar seems to dominate these threads. Based on hardware cost alone, PCs are cheaper. Anyone who can't see that doesn't know how to shop and compare. The argument that Macs cost no more has to be based on non-hardware considerations, like availability of specific software, reliability and maintainability, training cost, etc. These, too, are subject to debate. If anyone has some valid studies or even some unbiased opinion references, I'd be delighted to see them. In the meantime, I'll continue to use both Mac and PC, using each for what it's best at. With the new Intel processor Macs, you don't even have to get two machines to do this.
