mouse will not work on MI's iBook 3256
We went through this months ago. There are a couple of wireless mice that don't follow the usual USB protocols and therefore need a driver from the manufacturer even to work on Windows. A...

At least it's not doing what my PC used to do, where plugging in the mouse would make the cursor go crazy all over the screen at random intervals, sending click input to everything. Hell, I'm still trying to fight with Windows at work and the way one Dell in particular, no different from any other Dell, randomly gives a "Spooler service not found" error. On a Mac, I just connect the printer to the network, and I can print via Bonjour. PCs require CDs of drivers, Add Hardware wizards, system tray applets, and endless headaches.

I suspect you just didn't plug the mouse in, or perhaps you're simply making it up out of insecurity over how insanely far behind PC hardware and software is to the modern Mac world. I can't imagine still using BIOS in 2006, but you'll be stuck with it another 10 years thanks to Microsoft. Enjoy having to run with admin privileges another six months.
