The ones I know of use infrared to communicate with a box that connects to your computerator machine via an available USB port. That device then interperets the signal and converts it to plain old binary encoded ASCII that your PC has learned to understand from having to listen to that giberish, hour upon hour, day upon boring day... month after month, year after... you know the gig... all the time, 0's an 1's... and 1's and 0's over and over and over, just two characters in this whole boring dialog... zeros and ones... and SOMETIMES, I get to interperet Extended ASCII!
Steve buying a and X2 compatable ahhh AGP compatibility facts are annoying enough, so please write 2X or 4X instead of X2 or X4 !! it...

You might also want to consider one of the available wireless 'mouses'... or is that mice? 'meeses???' ... No matter they have enough balls to pbutt data to your OS via the software provided with them also... same old 0's and 1's and 1's and 0's...
