Not much of a computer expert here; and have been meaning to ask the forum if-where there was a simple program that I could load into my Windows XP PC in order to write 'Basic' programs, which I could then store in 'My Documents' etc.

Basic is the only one of a couple of computing languages learned at a university night course in 1967, that I can remember and I use it occasionally for simple calculating or conversion programs. While plenty, for example mortgage repayment schedule programs, are accessible on the internet, an advantage is that one's own 'Basic' can be modified to show or include other factors-amounts and then the results run and printed locally.

hi all, dumb question but I'm stuck in the middle of nowhere with zero entertainment. Have a brand-new...
Another reason NOT to use Internet Explorer 118
Err... not quite a 'fact'. You may be partly right there but don't buttume most Mac users have that atbreastude. You get people who are pbuttionate about things in all areas of life, and...

Finding and loading a PC based Basic program would enable me to turn down and clear the desk space taken by my 30+ year old Adam computer, connected to a separate scratchy old monochrome HP monitor. It's been so reliable that I've never had the top cover off the Adam. The Adam daisywheel printer does not do a pretty job but the printer ribbons seem to last forever (unlike ink cartridges, although it's not really a fair comparison!). The printed output is still usable and Adam can still be used as a word processor in an emergency. (Original plus one or two carbons!) Also I did find a spare Adam module at a 'Thrift Shop' which gave me a second tape drive and a possible Adam CPU spare!

In other words what I got works. But any advice would be most welcome.

TIA Terry.
