Desktop Deals

Hello.

Can anyone recommend any good desktop offers at the moment in the UK?

So far I have looked at Dell's online site at the Dimension range. I've also looked at Comet's site and they have some good Fujitsu Siemens systems.

What I am looking for is a system with a Pentium 4 or equivalent AMD processor around the 2.8 to 3.2 Ghz for Intel and whatever that translates to for AMD (2800 - 3200).

I am looking for around 512MB memory. 80 or more GB for the Hard Drive. DVD +--RW rewriter. XP Home will do as the OS.

Basic integrated graphics will do, and on board sound will do as well.

The PC will not be used for gaming or heavy video editing, but for digital photography, lots of music files, and office applications.

Definitely need a 17" LCD with the system.

The current system being replaced is a 550 Mhz system. It is pretty much redundant and diabolically slow. Should have been replaced years ago. It can't handle the Digital Photography applications needed to be used. Can't handle music files either.

The Dimension PCs are a little out of the price range. The Siemens one is also a tad expensive and doesn't include support.

Budget was up to around £500.

If you can recommend and point me in the direction of any other current deals I should look at for Desktop systems similar to the very grateful.

I am going to have a look at some other companies as well like IBM, HP, Mesh, Gateway etc.
