There aren't as many options as you think for your existing hardware. If you want...

Hi, I run a karaoke show with a difference. A have a yamaha PSR740 keyboard that displays the words from a midi file on an LCD display. The file is read from a floppy disk that is inserted into the yamaha floppy drive. Only problem is that I can only load about 15 songs at a time. I want to use my PC as an interface. I want to be able to load the midi files directly form my PC. There is a host to midi port on the back of the yamaha, but I am not sure what I need (drivers, leads etc) to make it all work.

More RAM = Less CPU strain
You are really asking the wrong question, what you want to know is whether adding ram will speed up whatever...

In addition when I play the midi file on the PC, I want the words to be displayed on a TV screen as well as on the yamaha. I know that something like van bascoes karaoke player will display the words in karaoke format but I want that to be displayed on a large tv screen. I have never tried connecting PC to TV before and dont know where to start.

So in brief, I want to double click on the midi file within windows explorer, van bascoes kareoke player automatically opens, displays the words on tv screen. The music is exported to the yamaha keyboard via the host to midi cable and the sound output comes from the sound card within the yamaha.

Any suggestions on how to do this would be greatly appreciated.

Kind regards Dynamo
