Hello.

Yesterday we received a new computer. Unfortunately it doesn't have a 3.5" floppy drive which we need despite having one on the online site we bought from (Comet). It also doesn't have a spare 3.5" bay to add one. As the two bays are taken up by card readers and USB-Firewire ports.

Is it possible to get a 3.5" floppy drive that can be fitted to a 5.25" bay with some sort of adapter plate? Or, can you get cheap external floppy drives?

If I can get one easily and cheaply for an external one or one that can be fitted to the 5.25" bay it's not a problem. Otherwise I might have to kick up a fuss with Comet.

I wan't too impressed with their delivery service either. We paid something like an extra £12 or £13 to have it delivered in 2 to 5 working days. They were supposed to phone us beforehand to arrange a time that was convenient to us. The price included our choice of AM or PM delivery, but we weren't given a choice. They said they were coming sometime on Wednesday but couldn't give an exact time and wouldn't let us choose. They didn't turn up, and it had to be re-arranged for yesterday, when it was finally delivered. As part of that delivery service they were also supposed to connect it all up. This is what it said on their site. They didn't do that though. They just dropped it off and left. They have said they will refund us the extra we paid for this service which is the good news. I now just need to sort out the 3.5" drive.

Any advice on this 3.5" drive is greatly appreciated.

Cheers
