Question: AMD Sempron 2800 & bootable restore cddvdPower DVD took over my sound card It seems that the operation of that software takes over the operation of the way the sound card is addressed. The DVD software... I am building a computer for my friend. I went to Fry's and got that deal on AMD Sempron 2800 with PcChip motherboard. Installed windows XP SP2, every thing is fine. However when I go to device manger, windows is reading processor speed at 1.2GHZ. I went to AMD site and found few article online about the conversion of AMD sempron to Intel speed. To my understanding Sempron 2800 should be close to 2.2GH. I check the jumper setting on the motherboard seems correct. In BIOS under CPU PnP setup, I left it disabled as per Motherboard manual for detecting the processor speed automatically. My question is that is Sempron 2800 should be showing as 1.2 GHZ? or I need to change BIOS setting. Another question is that I want to make a system restore cd, so if the system crashed they can reboot the computer and restore it. I have Norton ghost 3.0 and made backup and able to restore the system from the backup cd-dvd, the only problem is that recovery wizard is not very user friendly(for e.g., no mouse support). Anyone has similar motherboard and processor or have any knowledge please help. Thanks, Muhammad
