Can this Gateway 500XL 3.4Mhz be upgraded to 1GB RAM 4
Thanks to all that responded. Maybe y'all can give me some recommendations? I'm looking for a PC w-at least a 3.4Mhz processor, 1 gig RAM...

On the XP Home machine I have five users. two admin and three limited. I have strange errors when users are set up on a limited account. For example Internet Explorer keeps coming up with errors and having to close. It keeps saying it encountered a problem and needs to close. It gives you the option to click on debug, send error report, or not send error report. When I have sent the report the page comes up and says I need to update Explorer as it is running on XP Home SP2, and needs an SP2 update. However when I go to the WIndows Update page, everything is already up to date. This problem only occurs for users on Limited accounts. If I switch them to admin accounts there are no explorer issues.

I didn't want them all to be on admin accounts, but it looks like I may have to do that. It seems pointless to have the Limited account, because there isn't an awful lot you can do with such an account.

Funny, in ways I have known you shorter than some of my other friends, but you are absolutely a perfect friend...

Perhaps it is because Explorer saves cookies and temporary internet files when you use the Internet? Perhaps the limited account doesn't allow Limited users to save or modify any files other than to their own My Documents folder, so this is why the problem arises? If that is the case, is there a way to fix the problem while keeping them on limited accounts? Or is there a way of setting user permissions differently to the admin and limited accounts of Windows XP?

Cheers
