Virus locking filesComputer Tip: On Screen Keyboard Computer Tip: On Screen Keyboard this is cool if you ever mess up your keyboard!* I'm not sure how many of you would like to... I posted a problem earlier today about a computer I have that is loaded with viruses. I thought that I may have solved my own problem but now I've got a new, bigger problem. All I want to do is save my cousin's family vacation pictures from her hard drive before reformatting for her. Like I said, her computer is infected with many viruses and isn't working properly at all. I have added a second hard drive to her system thinking that I could just transfer the pictures to there (this drive works cause I am using it in one of my other systems as a slave drive with no problems). As I stated in my earlier post, her computer will only start in safe mode because of these viruses and even then, it keeps freezing and acting strange. I am limited with what it will let me do before it crashes or freezes. I can get into her folders and such, it just won't let me open or copy the contents. It keeps freezing if I try to open something (clicking on a picture), but if I right-click on it, it will let me click copy. Problem is it won't let me paste it on the second (slave) drive I've added. Paste doesn's show up as an option in the right-click menu and when I hit CTRL V, nothing. I added Paste to the toolbar on top and still nothing. As I mentioned in my earlier post, her floppy, CD-RW drive and the rest of her hardware is rendered useless right now by the virus. The Device Manger doesn't even show anything in it and it won't recognize them if you try clicking on them. Are all her files locked by the viruses and if so, how could I go about copying them before reformatting? BTW, I am no good with DOS or using command prompt if that is somehow an option. Thanks again, Mike
