Weird big problem

First of all, sorry about my latest post essentially being repeated, but that wasn't intentional in any way on my part - I experienced a problem with the system that caused that. nos1eep wrote - Well, I tried doing exactly what you suggested, but now I have a complete DISASTER. Now I can't even get my PC started up 'cause I get a message saying that the critical file "SYSTEM.INI" can't be found - or something like that. Then I get messages saying that no hard-drive, or any drives at all, can be detected - or something like that. Then I get a message saying that "C:-WINDOWS-SYSTEM-VMM32.VXD" is missing or can't load. So what in the world should I do now? I can't use my recovery CD, or any other CD's at all, 'cause neither my CD-RW burner nor DVD-ROM drive is being recognized at all by my damn now apparently extremely screwed-up PC. So ANYONE who can, PLEASE HELP! Again, any help will be tremendously appreciated - thanks.

Your message is confusing, if no hard drives can be found, you will not get error messages regarding missing files. Reboot and go to BIOS and see if your drives are being detected there and post back.
