help creating dual boot 306- Bobb - Why do HD manufactures mislead us Hello. I'm want to have a food discussion, to clear up somethings. I know there have been soem discussions on this in the past, but, I think some things just aren't clear. Whay... You have a few things in error: 1) Without regard to order of parbreastions, each one has a drive letter, there are *not* two "C" drives or of any other letter, *ever*. 2) As i mentioned before, since i have done this many times, *start* with an empty (clean) drive and Win9x and whatever DOS parbreastions you want, *then* install Win2K. Win2K will automatically give you a boot menu that allows you to choose Win9x or Win2K. 3) NO folder BS; you CANNOT install *any* OS into a folder!! 4) If one installs Win2K first, it will take the whole hard drive, making it difficult to install another parbreastion-OS. Furthermore, any new parbreastion will then start above the "magic line" and the older OSes seem to be unable to recognize "huge" addresses, as they use FAT (or variants at best). 5) In a given OS, one can install software on any *available* drive, and "see" the Win2K drive unless you chose to use FAT for Win2K. But Win2K will see all drives: DOS primary, DOS extended logical drives, Win9x, its NTFS drive, not counting CD drives or DVD drives...and i have them all.
